UNESCO prepares for LNG reef mission

United Nations experts will visit Queensland later this year amid concerns the booming liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry could threaten the Great Barrier Reef.

The UN's environmental arm, UNESCO, has rebuked the Australian government for failing to tell it about approvals for LNG projects inside the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area.
